Pixie-led - Wild Colour Specimen of Ivy
In the wonderful Dartmoor tale of Chasing Crockern, a midwife is awoken in the middle of the night by a pixie, who needs help. She is taken to the pixie's home, where she helps deliver a baby. To stop its crying, the pixies apply an ointment to its eyes. Immediately, the babe stops crying. Curious, the midwife applies the ointment to one of her own eyes when the pixies aren't watching. Her vision is transformed.
The wild inks from Ivy are unlike anything else in our collection of specimens. They are bright, and unlike anything we see on the moor as a full palette. Yes, perhaps the odd flower, but not a full field.
About the Print
Each wild colour specimen (100mm x 100mm) is also elegantly letterpress printed onto handmade watercolour paper using traditional techniques that date back centuries. The finished piece is professionally framed to approximately 230mm x 320mm.
